Organised, Organised, Organised

Well sort of!!
Sometimes I wonder where my days do seem to go to... I am a housewife but my days seem to go quicker than when I was working as a full-time teacher. It really is frightening sometimes just where the weeks go and this one has been no different. So at the end of my 'organisation' week I have managed to get just one room out the five I wanted done. But this is perhaps my most challenging as it really was a disaster area and the most important as it was my crafting materials which needed organising.

So this is the result of my work - this is now how my desk looks with the essentials I need to hand and I have some extras in my spare room for now.

The desk is an old one that my husband used to have in his office when he still lived with his parents, it is on little extra legs if you look carefully as it was too low before. It has great drawer space and is full of character and even though I yearn for a bureau, I absolutely adore this desk.

I am in two minds about my pin-board as I do not really like putting pins in things so for now it will ledge on my desk. I have used old washing tablet boxes (blue lids) to store lots of things. I have loads of these and they are really sturdy and best of all the brand stickers come off easily. I also have my button collection in Bonne Maman jars on my desk now. In the corner is a basket with my house inspiration book and any crafting books I particularly like. There is also, rolled up, a very important sheet of paper - my 5 year old nephew finger painted it for me and then said he wanted it as wrapping paper so I am saving it till his birthday in March. Although, it is only A3 in size; so he did mention that I could use it wrap a small present and he wanted a big one too! Oh to be 5 again!

After seeing some amazing ribbon storage ideas I have made myself a temporary one for now with a cane and ribbon and also hung my fabric samples with it too. It brightens up my rather dull curtains. So there you have it, although I have realised this morning there is still not enough room really to wrap presents so I may have to think about some kind of moveable gift wrap station!

Below are some photos of really inspirational crafting areas/rooms I have found in my organisation quest this week.

Hope you enjoyed them as much as I did. I now have to start thinking about the other rooms I need to organise next week. Hope you have all had a fab week and a great Friday!

  2. Busy lady!

I have been collecting the same jam jars for a while which I have had stored away. Button storage is the perfect idea! I just need a space to put them. Haha.

  3. Love the photos. I wish I was more organised. I tried to be but it got away from me. I like to use lots of containers.
