If I could be anyone else...

I would be Kirstie Allsopp! If you are not aware who Kirstie is do have a look at her website. It is hard to describe what she is now really, as she is constantly doing more and more. She originally came onto our TV here in England as a home expert, co-hosting a show about finding people homes, but she is now involved with all sorts of charities and politics in this country.

Tonight begins the start of her latest TV series ''Kirsties Homemade Home", this time it is a series of three Christmas specials. Earlier in 2009, Kirstie turned her dilapidated Devon cottage, 'Meadow Gate', from a shell to a chic vision of country living. According to the TV guides - "Kirstie sets up camp in her cottage, in this special series, to take viewers on a yuletide journey of inspired decoration, wonderful gifts and perfect entertaining. Packed with tips and information, the series is a goldmine of creative ideas that viewers can replicate at home."

She is going to be looking at everything from Christmas decorations, handmade and homemade presents, to entertaining with plenty of food, and drink. She will continue to do all this whilst visiting local craftspeople and markets to try new crafts and I am sure with the wit and humor she adds to everything she does! Oh and I imagine, whilst she also wears stunning clothes and fabulous jewellery (this is the woman who claims on Twitter to not own a pair of jeans!)

I found her earlier 'Homemade' series to be a real inspiration and it pushed me to visit Antiques/Second-hand shops I never would have dared step foot in before. I have always loved her home shows but this one was just fantastic and wonderful to watch the transformation of the run-down house into a lovely home. Tonight I will be watching the show for last minute inspiration for this Christmas and to save anything else for future festivities.

So today whilst I continue my Christmas preparations by de-frosting my freezers and cleaning my oven, I am trying to channel the glamorous Kirstie Allsopp! Fortunately I do own jeans, am wearing two aprons and and an old shirt so I really do not look like Kirstie I can assure you!

PS: My husband would echo my sentiments entirely and I feel sure would make the same choice too! Hee hee xx

  4. I love Kirstie Allsopp. Location, Location, Location was my favourite of all the "shopping for a new home" shows! I'm excited to hear about these Christmas ones. I'm definitely going to ask hubby to get these for me (he is blessed with a great technological savvy for finding all things festive and British online!), so I can watch them throughout December. Thanks, Cassie! Really looking forward to seeing what Kirstie's up to now...
