Pancakes Galore

It is Shrove Tuesday or Pancake Day here in the UK today. Unfortunately we do not eat pancakes as much as I would like but it's probably for the best! Pancakes are traditionally eaten today to use up all those 'fatty' ingredients before the fasting which takes place during Lent. What you have with your pancakes is a big debate; I am a traditional girl and prefer mine plain and simple with sugar and lemon.
What do you like on your pancakes?

  1. Lemon and a sprinkling of sugar for me! I must look for a brilliant old photo of my Mum participating in the Olney Pancake race in the late 60's, priceless!

  3. I've got my running clinic tonight, so Alan usually works late while the boys are at my parents' place for dinner. So... we did pancake day early and had our crepe dinner last night. Soooo good!

If it's crepes, nice and thin, I like sugar and lemon or nutella and raspberries. Traditional, thick, North American style pancakes call for butter and read maple syrup. Yum!

    Happy Pancake Day!

P.S. Pancakes have never looked so lovely... :)

  7. Yum, I had pancakes for breakfast on Valentine morning. I prefer butter and sugar, although I don't know anyone else who eats them like that. I guess you eat them similar to the way I do. I'll have to try the lemon. Hope you get your package soon. I guess it takes awhile since it has to go alot further.
