All the fun of the fair

Time has disappeared before my very eyes since the Country Living Spring Fair last week, but I just wanted to share my day with you. My wonderful husband drove my mother-in-law, her friend and I to London from Suffolk, to spare us the train journey/cost. We arrived soon after 10am, which now looking back was the best thing as after lunch the place was just too busy. The business centre in Islington was gorgeously decorated for the event and there was so much to see, do and taste!

There were many, many gorgeous stands to visit and delicious things to taste in the food section and I was really pleased to have made the trip after all these years of reading the magazine. There were many stalls there from companies I had only seen online and sometimes it is great to actually see things for real, as you can't always tell from online pictures, can you?

The only downside of the event was the location really, it was a maze of levels and rooms and when it got crazy busy after lunch you just couldn't stop and look at things because it felt like you were being pushed round with the tide of people!

However, a great day was had by all (not so sure about my hubbie) and we were so grateful that my husband was there to whisk us away when we were ready to go home rather than wait around for a train. Here are my goodies from the day that came home with me (add to this four packets of sausages and four scotch eggs purchased by my husband!).

Her little tag identifies her as Polly, they were all different! (Angel Bill Trading Company)

It was so hard to choose just three cards of these buttons! (Incomparable Buttons)

My vase is sitting on my kitchen table with flowers in. (Tom Butcher Ceramics)

I would certainly recommend a visit if you are ever able in the future.

  1. Wow! You've been busy posting today!

The fair sounds like it was fantastic. I'm glad you made it there in the morning before it got too crazy.

I love the daisy buttons, and those rustic ceramic vases are lovely.

I sent you a huge email. I wonder if it's arrived yet?
