First of the month! Monday the first of March, is it just me or is there something rather satisfying about starting a fresh month on a Monday? It is all nice, neat and organised and we have awoken to the most glorious Springlike morning too! Well, we had a lovely little weekend; lovely except for the weather but I realise I am becoming abit of a broken record, going on and on about Spring!
We visited the auction viewing on Saturday, but there were no bargains to be had this time. There were rather too many stuffed animals for my liking - a 'flying' stuffed magpie is just plain wrong isn't it? Saturday night I cooked dinner for my in-laws; posh fish pie and then sticky toffee pudding with toffee sauce and custard. Sunday was spent reading the papers, magazines and catching up with various chores, bacon and egg sandwiches and a little more of that sticky toffee pudding. Basically our weekend was all about the pudding (see below)!
March is already full of things to do, birthdays and other celebrations. My little list so far includes:
- Two nephews and a cousin's birthday
- Coffee and cake catch-up with a friend
- Our village quiz night
- Mothering Sunday
- A house guest for a few days
- Theatre trip to see Les Miserables
- Country Living Spring Fair
March is shaping up to be a busy, busy month but we have been fortunate to have a quiet, restful February so we are raring to go. Do you have any exciting plans for March? Is it anyone's favourite month?
Hope you all had a lovely weekend and I hope you are all starting the week safe and sound after this weekends awful weather all over the world.

My in laws arrive today. Guess I need to start planning what I'm going to cook. Ah ha ha. Happy Monday!
