"What does England mean to me?"
This can be summed up in one word: Marianne. England reminds me of my twin sister. It is her heaven on earth and has been ever since we were little and she first read "James & The Giant Peach." Her love for England magnified when we were boy crazy adolescents and discovered British boyband TAKE THAT. Goodness, we were in lurve with them and dreamed one day of landing in London, finding Gary Barlow (for her) & Robbie Williams (for me) and marrying them! She loved England so much, I remember her checking out library books on English slang so we would be prepared.
After we graduated college in 2006, my dear twinkie finally made her dream come true and landed ‘across the pond." I’ll never forget her excitement, ringing me up and telling me about the first time she saw Big Ben. She literally cried from happiness. The weekend she spent in England was magical and everything she imagined it to be and more.
England, darling readers, for me means a dream come true. A dream come true for one of the most beautiful, kind hearted souls. A dream come true for my twin sister.
England means my twin sister’s happiness.
Could there be a better answer than that?
