Floral Friday

Happy Friday folks! I really had been hoping to post everyday this week but yesterday just ran away from me - anyone else find that happens sometimes? So, I mentioned on Monday that I had spent quite a long time last weekend photographing my mother-in-laws roses and I promised to share them with you. As the weekend is upon us once more, I thought I would choose them for my Floral Friday this week. 'My flowers' this week are of my own very first rose to flower in our garden this year, it looks so heavy in the tiny jar!

My mother-in-law loves roses and they always make a welcome gift. She has just installed two large wooden pergolas and planted climbing roses around them, which will look absolutely stunning in years to come. I only have one rose bush in my garden which was a gift but it is beautiful. Are you a fan of of roses or do you have a rose garden/bed?

So today being Friday, what are your plans for the weekend ahead? I really need to get in the garden at some point as the warm weather we have been having this week has made the weeds go crazy! We also have Max until tomorrow so lots more walks are planned, although in this heat he isn't so keen to go too far. Whatever you may be up to I hope you have a fabulous weekend.

  1. I love roses and enjoy looking at them and smelling them. If I ever own a garden there will definitely be rose bushes in it.
    Gorgeous pictures!
PS. I still need to do the award post. I'll do it soon, I promise.

  3. I love roses, especially pink and yellow ones (I think yellow are the most fragrant) We have a tiny bush of yellow roses in our garden, but that's all. I really must do something about that... I'd like an trellis archway somewhere with wild roses growing all over it.

Plans this weekend include a big old pirate themed birthday party for my baby boy, and lots of time outside in the sunshine preparing for it. AND planning my English holiday!

Hopefully we'll have time to skype at some point! xoxo
