Last week's computer problems meant that I was unable to share my one inspiration photo project with you. When I set out on this project this year I decided that I wanted to really spend time thinking about the inspirational word or phrase and photograph a picture which meant something to me and not just the first link which popped into my head. I think the last two weeks have really stretched me to think of something personal but I am enjoying the challenge.
Two weeks ago the inspirational prompt was simply 'white'. This was a tough one as it is quite hard to think of something other than nature.
This was 'my' white - these are the tops of two crisp white pillow cases handed down to me from my Grandma. Growing up she always lived so close by that we rarely went to stay overnight at her house but I was always fascinated by the beautiful bedlinen she had which was always so delicate and pretty.
And this weeks prompt was 'around town' - another difficult one for me as I live in a teeny tiny village. When I thought about it though I realised I needed to photograph what we are surrounded by and that is the fields and flat countryside.
Finally, over three months late, the sugar beet was harvested from the fields around our house. My husband's family, whose farmland it is, have been fraught over the delay the weather has caused, so it was a relief to see and hear this great big 'beet-eater' on the fields behind our house this week.

Right now I think of walls and snow. They have nothing to do with each other but both make me happy.
ReplyDeleteI love your white and lace pillowcase! So pretty! Have a fabulous weekend, Cassie! xoxo
ReplyDeletei'm SO in love with your lace pillowcase but more so for the story behind it.
ReplyDeleteps. i giggled at your word verification!! i'm calling your boobies that now... HAHAHA!
happy friday sweet friend! xo
Those pillow cases are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI think of snow, of course. But I also think of clouds. Thick, fluffy ones in a bright blue sky.
As for around town, I always picture downtown Victoria, Government Street and its beautiful old buildings (I've posted photos of it before...)
Happy Weekend, dear C! Skype on Saturday?
xo
I love your pillow case story and connection to white. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThe around town was a hard one but you captured what it meant to you . . . and your farming life. We too live in a farming community but I live in a town where those sugar beets get processed.
Thanks for sharing your pictures and talent with us!
