Seven shades of random!

The ever wonderful Erin tagged me with this lovely little award last week and I have been slowly compiling my list of randomness since then. So lets start Tuesday with a bit of randomness!

One) I suffer from Globophobia. This is a fear of balloons!! Strange I know but they really make me uncomfortable. It is not really about the balloon itself and I can look at them and appreciate photo’s of them and their beauty but it is more about the noise they make if they are rubbed and the fact they might pop that I am nervous about. I have had this fear for many years but it does make some party situations rather difficult!

Two) My favourite author is Freya North. I have been recently championing her to my wonderful blogging friend Erin, but I will promote her any chance I get. Freya writes so brilliantly and I have absolutely loved each and everyone of her books. I have also been fortunate enough to receive various emails from her directly over the years and she really does take the time to keep in touch with her readers.

Three) I have developed a real love of Tumblr, if any of you reading this also follow me on my tumblr site you will know what I mean! I have found that it has inspired so very many things since I set up an account. I only seem to reblog/blog photos myself but an image seen on there in the morning always seems to stick in my mind throughout the day or week. I think it is just the most amazing way of sharing inspiration pictures.

Four) I love pigs! Oh how I would love to have space in my garden to keep a couple. My husbands father used to be a pig farmer and I loved driving around seeing them all in the fields or watching my eldest nephew, when he was a toddler, walking around in a pen with the piglets. Maybe one day either I will see this dream come true or persuade my father in law to keep a couple again himself.

Five) I think my favourite place other than home (and I really am a home-girl) is Olu Deniz in Turkey. We have had many, many holidays there over the years and to me this place just symbolises a relaxing holiday, doing absolutely nothing other than reading book after book and eating wonderful food in excellent restaurants where we now seem to know so many faces.

Six) I bite my nails! I hate this horrid habit of mine but over the years unfortunately I have just come to accept it I am afraid. I have tried so many things to stop; including fake nails which I also bit!

Seven) When I was a teenager we won a holiday on a milk bottle lid competition! There were a list of holidays to win and letter from each place name was printed inside the milk bottle foil lid and you had to collect each lid to make into the place name. We won a holiday for our family to Tunisia. I cannot remember what the last letter we needed was but I remember my Mum running upstairs and shouting through the bathroom door at me in the shower that we had that letter to win the holiday! We even made the local newspaper too!

Now I have decided to pass this onto the gorgeous newly engaged Nicole.
