When I first read about Kateigh's bookswap I ummed and arred about joining. I finally took the plunge and decided to join in. At the moment I think I am of the frame of mind that I will resend the books sent to me and forward them on but I may change my mind in time! I love reading, but hate that I never seem to have time to anymore, so by joining I am hoping it will encourage me to close the laptop lid and open another kind of world instead.
For now I have packaged up my first book and posted it on its way for the long journey to Australia. When I think of all those books being posted around the world visions of some Harry Potter style scene come to mind! I toyed backwards and forwards with which book to send but I ended up with a childhood favourite - Watership Down. I loved this book and couldn't help but shed a tear!
Thinking of the adventures of these rabbits always makes me think of the rabbits who reside in the fields around our garden! They often venture into our garden as Spring takes hold and have been responsible for the stripping of our holly bushes we planted as saplings! Can you believe it is the holly they choose over other less sharper varieties!
Now I am looking forward to receiving my first book - I cannot remember if we are matched with the same person; so we receive a book from the person we send to - does anyone know? Waiting for my little package will make the post arriving everyday even more exciting!
(fly little package, fly like the wind!)

ooh what a fun swap :)
ReplyDeleteyou'll have to share what book you get sent and give us a review! I'm looking for some good reads during my looong plane flight coming up.
& I wish I had more time to read too - the internet is just so distracting!
also have I mentioned how much I love your little monthly list on your side bar. I think it's the sweetest idea. and so cool to check out what you are up too :D
Your book looks so pretty, all packaged up like that. It's a definite talent of yours, gift-wrapping...
ReplyDeleteI sent off all my Valentines yesterday, so I think I can take a break from the post office for a while. Can't wait to start finding fun things in my mailbox. I wonder what book I'll get?
I think the swap worked like the ornament one. You get one person, they get another, that person gets someone else...
I just love getting lost in a good book...
ReplyDeleteohhh I just ADORE books!
ReplyDeletei was SO excited about her swap and i'm glad you joined :) i have always been thankful to have a passion to read but i can understand how hard it is to get away from the computer too.
ReplyDeletei loved the imaged of a harry potter-like sending of the books... lovely! i can't wait to get mine (and i hope it's beautifully packaged like yours!)
my girl already got hers and that made me equally excited.
