Morning Monday!

(image via Lucy Grossmith)

Good morning, I hope you are all reading this after a good weekend. Mine seemed to disappear before my eyes once again and I sat at 6 o'clock last night and questioned where the weekend infact had gone.

As you may remember I mentioned Friday night was quiz night in our village and I am afraid to report this blog author is indeed not very clever! I felt sorry for our other team members; I think they thought this 'degree holding, qualified teacher' would be a huge benefit to the team, but I was terrible. Although, in my defence, they were very difficult questions and very much targeted at the older generation present!

We spent the rest of the weekend enjoying the gorgeous Spring weather and the garden now feels like it is pleading with me to get outside and sort it out! And this morning we have our very first daffodil in flower too! Apparently (according to the newspapers at the weekend) the daffodils are all going to be a month late flowering this year but it is expected to be a magnificent year for Magnolias and as we just planted one, given to us as a gift, so we cannot wait to see the results.

Plans for this week include a house-guest for a few days (who I will introduce in another post later) and a visit to my favourite wholesale warehouse today, as well as very much looking forward to Friday when we are going to see Les Miserables!

How about you, what are your plans for the week?

  2. Happy Monday, Cassie!

Sorry the quiz night wasn't a success. But don't blame yourself! How can you be expected to know the answers to a bunch of "old people" questions when you, yourself, are so youthful?!

Your week sounds great. I love having a houseguest. And you know how I adore Les Mis! "Do you hear the people sing, singing the song of angry men?" LOVE. IT.

I'm emailing you now. Well, working on a nice long letter anyway. Hopefully will get it sent by the end of the day!

    PS: Hurrah for the daffodil!
