I love lupins and these plants were new into my garden last year. They flowered again and again and I even had some late into September. The plants themselves have really expanded in size over the seasons and I cannot wait for this years blooms.

Currently we are all crossing our fingers and toes for the weather to hold out this weekend, however it is not looking too promising. The reason being, that we have a family wedding to attend tomorrow and they were hoping to have the ceremony outside. Plus we all have very Summery outfits planned and at the moment it appears like we will all be blue with cold!
What are you up to this weekend, as we head into what is reportedly the beginning of summer?
Now I certainly couldn't resist adding another 'blank - it' to this weeks Floral Friday post when I saw the theme for today!
1. My favorite book growing up was 'Matilda' by Roald Dahl. In fact I adored all his works.
2. The funniest book I've ever read was 'And God Created the Au Pair'. This was recommended to me only recently by my good friend Erin and I laughed out loud at those children so many times.
3. The one book that has truly changed my life is a hard one! I have read so many books that I have loved, including some excellent childrens books over the years. One book that stays firmly in my mind is 'Pigtopia'; such a strange but compelling story.
4. If you're looking for a real "tear jerker" you should probably read "The Wedding" by Nicholas Sparks. I have cried reading all his books so far. Or 'Pay It Forward' by Catherine Ryan Hyde - another book which is so much better than the movie.
5. If I could meet any author living or dead I would want to meet so many authors, I would have so many questions. But if I had to pick I would say Roald Dahl because that man was pure genius and Freya North because I feel sure we could be the best of friends.
6. The next book on my "to read" list - well I have TEN books to take on holiday with me! A few more by Nicholas Sparks, two recommended by Erin, written by Melissa Nathan, the next in the series from Jo Carnegie and many more.
7. If I was snowed into a remote cabin in the woods and could only choose three books to bring with me I'd bring any written by Freya North, I love all her work and can read it time and time again.
And if I could be so bold as to add another one to the list:
8. My current favourite children's authors are Mick Inkpen - I just adore anything and everything from the Kipper series and David McKee - how can you not love Elmer!
Thank you to Lauren for another round of fabulous 'Fill The Blanks Friday', don't forget to link back if you join in.

Not a busy week, but a very busy day today. Lovely to come home and log on to these lovely pictures, especially of the Lupins, I love this type of flower. Had a book when I was a child called 'The Lupin Lady' about a girl who wants to make the world more beautiful in her lifetime, and travels the world as she gets older, unsure how to achieve this, until final when she is an old lady she walks the coastal paths scattering Lupin seeds which bloom making everything more beautiful - that final image really reminded me of it!
ReplyDeleteI hope the weather is fabulous for you this weekend!
ReplyDeleteLoved your list and your flowers. Feeling really blah and tired today but hopefully a trip to the beach will perk me up. The sun is shining so fingers crossed that we all have fun. I've just finished my fill in the blanks post... and it's 3:30pm. Am so slow moving today.
ReplyDeleteHope your Friday was lovely!
xoxo
Oh wow I loved this post! Books, books, books are my favourite! I must do this post on my blog sometime. Hehe. Like you, I have so many novels waiting to be read! I have a "to-read" pile on my desk and it's sky-high at the mo! ;) I'm currently finishing up Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro.
