I hope you have all had a fabulous week and are looking forward to the weekend. My week seems like it turned out far busier than I had expected it to be with lots of work to do. Maybe it is also the Summer which is keeping me occupied with other activities too. Today I have spent a large part of the day making cakes for the village fete tomorrow, I will try and remember to take a picture of the big red velvet cake before I cut it later. It was the first time I have attempted to make it as a large cake rather than as cupcakes and all I can say is I am glad it is covered in frosting!!
I was inspired by this weeks 'Found Flowers' to take my own photo today. I picked up these gorgeous pale pink peonies yesterday when grocery shopping and thought how wonderful they would look next to the one blue/violet bloom I have on one of my hydrangeas. This weeks 'Found Flowers' were taken from a wedding shoot on Style Me Pretty and the bouquets were just the prettiest mix of peonies, roses and what I think is green hydrangea flowers.

So what are your plans for the weekend? Can you believe we only have two more full ones left in July? Our weekend is once again very weather dependent; if the weather holds then the lawn needs to be cut and the garden weeded. The wind has gone crazy here these last few days and all of my plants are now virtually on their sides, so lots of stakes are needed to hold them back up. We also have lots of films recorded on our Sky box, so hopefully we may have a chance to have a couple of movie nights, that is if I can prise my husband away from the golf on TV at St Andrews!

Our weekend will be all about the town summer festival- the pancake breakfast, the parade, a wander through the stalls (I remember picking up big bundles of lavender last year... mmmmm!) We've also got some swimming to do, and I'm going out for dinner and to a movie with a friend for her birthday.
Looking forward to a busy, exciting weekend. Should be lots of fun!

ReplyDeleteI think I'm forcing myself to clean and craft this weekend...I keep promising myself I'll do a little craft project, but end up delaying it in favor of lazing about in my PJs. :)

ReplyDeletePretty flowers! I am helping paint my uncles house this weekend. When you live in the desert you are thrilled when summers go fast. Today was 115 out and I thought I was gonna die a couple times.. but alas I made it another sweaty day!
