I am really looking forward to Christmas dinner - roast turkey and all the trimmings! Do you go traditional or have something entirely different?

read: Baby books
flick through: no time to flick!
listen: to baby gurgles, cries and whimpers
eat: when there is time!
drink: coffee, coffee, coffee
wear: pre-pregnancy jeans (yeah!)
prepare: for Christmas (it's coming too soon)
be: baby cuddling
looking forward to: each day with my little boy
sitting: snuggling little fingers and toes
dreaming: of Sam's first Christmas
excited about: life with Samuel!
Very traditional- roast turkey and stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, roast carrot and turnip, brussel sprouts, fresh baked buns, cranberry sauce... Yum!
ReplyDeleteI'm in France for Christmas this year, which means I'll be a bit homesick for Canada. It also means I'll be able to distract myself with all manner of delicious French holiday food!
ReplyDeleteFor Christmas Eve dinner (chez my husband's parents) we are having about a billion courses, starting with a champagne apéritif, oysters, escargot (really!) & smoked salmon. There will be homemade foie gras on bread with pieces of dried figs baked in. The meal for December 24th is usually based on fish or seafood. This year my mother-in-law is planning to serve scallops. Yum. Of course we'll have lots of cheese, salad, wine & dessert, which is a traditional "bûche de Noël" (a cake shaped like a log!)
On the 25th, we'll go eat lunch at my husband's aunt's house. She is going to prepare roast turkey (stuffed with chestnuts) so it will be more like a traditional Christmas dinner in Canada.
Then on the 26th, we will be attending the traditional Boxing Day lunch with a group of my husband's old friends. I have no idea what's on the menu, but I'll be so full by then, it won't really matter!
Have a wonderful Christmas, Cassie! XX
