My poor garden soon became blanketed in snow and everything had a dusty snow cap.
Once we reached Wednesday the bitter cold was accompanied by a biting wind, which whipped up snow and it was swirling around our patio. We have never had snow up the patio doors like in the picture above before, although we had nothing compared to some areas of England with temperatures of -20C and Gatwick airport closed for days.
Remember this little beauty from last year, well it hasn't grown all that much in a year but today we moved it to the front of the house, it certainly looked well decorated for the season this last week.
I have been regularly de-icing and warming up the food for our gardens visitors who are very hungry.
I hope there were no wrens roosting in this box as it is now surrounded by the white stuff! And finally the view from my kitchen window; a rather snowy lane greets me if I dare venture out.
Today we are shrouded by a blanket of fog which has brought with it slightly warmer temperatures. Plans from last week were scuppered by the weather and I am keeping my fingers crossed that next week I will be able to get out and about safely to get a move on with Christmas shopping. Wishing you all a fantastic weekend whether you are basking in sunshine or huddled up in snow far heavier than here. Leave me a comment, I would love to know what you are up to this first weekend in December.

You had -12 and we had 22 yesterday! Unbelievably warm even for us! It's December!

So much snow. It looks kind of cozy to me because we haven't had anything heavy yet, but I hope it clears up a bit so you can travel safely and do some shopping...

ReplyDeleteThe snow sure is beautiful around your place. We had some of that before Thanksgiving, but it is all melted now and the weather has warmed up to sunshine although still cold outside. It's pretty when it first comes, but gets old when you need to get out, huh? Hope your weekend was fun and productive for you.
