Todays post is inspired by many things from the last few days. At about this time of year I begin my letter to Father Christmas (or at least to relatives!) and photo frames usually feature very highly! When I got married I had loads of photo frames on my gift list and hadn't realised until someone pointed it out. One of my husbands relatives said they had bought us two of the silver frames because "picture frames stay with you for life". Which is a wonderful thought... So below are few of the photo frames I adore, James bought me the gorgeous nickel plated frames last birthday but the rest may very well make this years wishlist!

Both multi-aperture frames are from John Lewis, small heart shaped wooden frames from HunterGatherer, the wooden frames with wings and a white heart and the rectanglar wire frame are from Camel and Yak and the nickel plated frames are from RetreatHome and the ornate cream frames from a real fave Dibor.
Now James and I have differing views on photos and I would be interested in hearing other peoples views. James feels you should 'update' photos in frames around the house, while I am very much in the 'just add another frame' camp. His Mum changes photos all the time and so this must be where he gets it from whereas I grew up with the same photos in our frames and in fact its still the same at my Mum's house. One thing I have always wanted to do is create a wall like the ones below and I am reminded of this idea everytime I watch Brothers and Sisters and see the stairwell in Nora's house. We have the perfect space up our stairs and the hallway would really benefit from a shiny frame display as it is quite dark, maybe one day I will collect enough frames!!

My other inspiration for all things photo came from two blogs the wonderful Gracie's post from yesterday about taking photos (your photo's are just fab Gracie by the way!) and from Rhianne over at 'for the easily distracted' who is starting a photo-swap. I do not have confidence in my own photos enough yet to enter this time, but maybe one day soon... Finally, on my search for frames I came across this driftwood one at alldriftwoodfurniture and thought how amazing it would be to take around with you and frame each photo shot! Just imagine ...
hey Cassie! You are indeed 101, how exciting, thanks for following! Could you email me your email address (if that makes sense) so I can gt back to you properly :)
ReplyDeletep.s. you have a lovely little blog x
I am with you on the add an other frame camp!! the only exception I make to that is my kids school pic's get renewed each year and the older ones travel to a new spot. I love to see my kids growing up all over my walls. I have the same stairway kind of thing going on and my dining room is copying too.
ReplyDeleteMuch love xx
hmm definitely add another frame type girl :) but i think my boyfriend woudl agree with your hubs!
ReplyDeleteI love collecting frames! Its a genetic habit I got from my mom, I guess... The wooden frame on the last photo is magical. Thank you for sharing! I'm glad to find your blog. :)
ReplyDeleteI adore pretty frames. I think I'm more on the just add another frame. Occasionally I change photos but most of the time I add to the collection. I'm glad you were inspired by my random photo post =) One day I too will join a photo swap. At the moment I'm not confident either. x
