Bright Ideas for Dark Days

Welcome to a new feature I have for the upcoming Winter months. The 'Bright Ideas for Dark Days' post idea came after reading a feature with the same name in Country Living magazine over Christmas. The article listed ways of bringing cheer to the cold months ahead and it got me thinking about my own goal for the upcoming year of 'enjoying the little things' and how I can do this over the cold, dark and often miserable days of Winter.

So I decided to have a regular post here on my blog featuring the things which I am doing to brighten the days and weeks of chilly January and February. I have a list of some things myself and have taken some ideas from the Country Living magazine article but I would also love to hear your ideas too. Now I know not everyone is experiencing Winter at the moment but maybe you can remember what you did do or usually do during this time perhaps. I remember reading a lovely post by Megan over on Time after Tea back in our Summertime when it was beginning to turn chilly in Australia, where she wrote a list of things she wanted to achieve over the Winter.

Some of the ideas I have so far include having a craft project to undertake, making a home-baked treat, relaxing by the fire with a good book and enjoying a wintry walk with camera in hand. How about you, what wonderful ways do you have of bringing cheer into your winter months. Please let me know in the comments below and I will of course credit your idea if I feature it in the coming weeks. I am really looking forward to reading your ideas and to sharing my first project with you next week.

I'm sure I can think up a few. Once I'm finished with the madness of a blizzard and Alan's birthday, I'll get back to you!

  4. what a great idea for posts.
I guess one of my favorite things to do during winter is to stay home with my family. and that doesn't sound too exciting. but staying warm, baking, eating and watching movies feels great.

  5. What a beautiful idea! I think it's a great one to get some fun ideas out there.

I love to sit on the lounge with a blanket and drink hot chocolate while reading a book or watching a movie. One of my fave things to do in winter.
